Pai History

Pai is an old city. Original ethnic population in Pai is Prai which is a family of ethnic use language Astro-Asiatic. As evidence , has ruins of chapel and stupa is scatter throughout the top of mountain , upland hillside , Pai river lowland area. Somewhere building by stone , such as in the forest closed Erk-Ker-Ter waterfall which is headquater of Mae-Ping-Noi River. People called the new city in the west of Pai river "Viengtai" The old city known as "Wiang Nua."

Tham Phi Man (Tham ,English is cave ) , Baan Huay Hok, Tambon Wieng Nua is far from Baan Huay Hok to the west about 1,500 metres . In this cave is found carcass bone.
